In this blog post, I’d love to share the 4 essential steps that shape our yoga classes in Caldas da Rainha. These steps create a rhythm that brings balance, connection, and mindfulness into every session.
1. Preparing the Class
Each week begins with inspiration. I choose a theme that sets the tone for the whole session—this might be something seasonal, energetic, or focused on physical alignment.
From there, I design a sequence that flows through Asanas, Pranayama, and Meditation. I love sketching out the poses as little stickman drawings—it helps me visualize the class flow. I also create a playlist to match the energy of the session, whether it’s soft and grounding or uplifting and dynamic.

2. Preparing the Room
Our classes take place in Caldas da Rainha, on the first floor of Sociedade Columbófila Caldense. Creating a welcoming atmosphere is very important to me. Before each session, I clean the space, light incense, and set out the mats, so that when you arrive, the room feels peaceful, inviting, and ready to support your journey inward. It’s your time to settle, land, and focus on both body and mind.

3. The seven Pillars of our Yoga Practice
Our yoga classes are guided by seven key elements that support your body health:
Pranayama
Tuning into the breath to set the tone for presence.

Gentle Stretching
To build flexibility and awaken the body gently.

Balance & Stability
Through standing postures that ground you in the present moment.

Strength & Endurance
Including Sun Salutations and muscle-strengthening poses for vitality.

Mobility & Twists
Encouraging spinal health and energy flow through rotations.

Relaxation
Closing in Savasana to restore and integrate.

Short Meditation
We take a few quiet minutes to meditate, allowing space for stillness, clarity, and inner awareness before stepping back into your day.

4. Coming Together in Caldas da Rainha
After class, you’re welcome to stay for a chat and a warm ginger tea. It’s a lovely way to connect and share the peaceful energy we’ve created.
