One of the most important principles in yoga is to trust your body and natural instincts. Listen to what your body is telling you.
Always take a moment to check in with yourself and notice what feels right, rather than simply following your teacher’s instructions.
The foundation of every practice is mindfulness and self-appreciation.
Ask yourself:
- What does my body need today?
- What is your body telling you today?

Yoga is about acceptance and awareness by understanding and respecting your limits, and meeting yourself there with gentleness.
Even as you trust your teacher’s guidance through asana and pranayama, the responsibility for your body remains with you.
A good teacher is a companion on your path — guiding you safely, inspiring growth, and meeting you with respect and equality.
When guidance is clear, the mind can relax, creating space for deeper awareness of body and breath.
In your own practice, cultivate this sensitivity and listen closely to your body. Recognize the connection between body, breath, mind, and soul — and learn to trust it.
Have the confidence to rest when you need to, and the courage to meet your limits with awareness. Growth happens when we honor and gradually expand our boundaries.

Every practice — like every day — is unique. Stay open and adaptable to what each moment brings.
Yoga is, above all, a journey of self-discovery. Use your practice to know yourself more deeply, to nurture compassion, and to share that awareness with others.
I look forward to practicing together with you.
Namaste,
Andrea Stern
