Lessons from Patricia Thielemann
Yesterday, Sunday, March 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day, a day to honor women all around the world.
In this blog post, I like to share with you one woman who has inspired and educated me on my Yoga Journey.
Patricia Thielemann, the founder of Spirit Yoga Berlin, trained in the United States with teachers like Ana Forrest, Jivamukti Yoga, Tias Little, and Colette Crawford. Inspired by all of them, she created Spirit Yoga, a style that brings traditional yoga into a modern lifestyle.
In 2015, I completed my second 300-hour teacher training with Patricia in Berlin an experience that still shapes the way I teach today.
I remember one of the very first yoga classes I attended in Berlin. It was at a studio called Yoga for You, run by one of Patricia’s students who had already opened his own studio. At the time, I didn’t know any of this. I simply joined the class, but the practice opened a whole new path for me. It felt healing and grounding, a way to connect deeply with myself. That’s how I first discovered Spirit Yoga.

As a physiotherapist, I deeply value the focus on clear, structured alignment. Understanding the body and moving with awareness is important to me. But at the same time, I love creating space in my classes for students to explore their inner experience , to feel, breathe, and truly connect with themselves.
In this TED Talk, Patricia said: “We are here to inspire and uplift each other, going beyond what is just about ‘me, myself, and I.

Bringing this spirit into our weekly yoga session: inspiration can come from everything you see, feel, and know, anything that sparks something inside you. Yoga is an experience that carries on, helping you feel present and alive.
I feel grateful for the teachers, and for every being, who inspire us along the way
With gratitude and love. Enjoy your yoga Practice!
