Hello,

Today we will take a look at the alignment of Cobra Pose and its muscular impact. Cobra is a foundational backbend found in many yoga sequences. It engages the muscles of the back, shoulders, and legs, promoting strength and flexibility in the spine. The gentle lift of the chest also helps open the heart and improve lung capacity.

Muscular Strengthening:

  • Strengthens both the upper and lower back
  • Engages and tones the shoulder and arm muscles.

Flexibility

  • Increases flexibility in the spine and helps relieve tension in the lower back.
  • Opens the chest and stretches the abdominal muscles.

Yoga Practice:
Cobra Pose is included in sequences like Sun Salutations to improve back flexibility and strengthen the spine. It is also helpful for preparing for deeper backbends like Bow or Camel Pose.

Mental Focus
Bhujangasana requires mindful breathing and concentration, helping to calm the mind and increase mental clarity.

I’ve put together a 60-second tutorial to guide you through the alignment of Cobra Pose. 📹✨
